The HR Coordinator ("HRC") is a key member of JAMS' HR department responsible for providing administrative support and assistance across its various HR functions and daily operations. The HRC serves as an additional point of support to the HR Team, as well as the Talent Acquisition and Talent Development, as it manages associate data and records, assists in onboarding processes, facilitates communication within the organization, and ensures compliance with HR policies and regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Organizes and maintains associate records and files with their respective personal details, employment history, benefits information, and all other associate-related data within the HR database to maintain data integrity and ensure employment compliance.
  • Assists with coordinating training sessions and programming for associates, as needed, including scheduling sessions, tracking attendance, and maintaining training records.
  • Assists as necessary with the onboarding process for new associates which includes processing candidate information and ensuring that all their necessary documentation is completed and that hiring managers have completed all of their assigned tasks.
  • Performs various administrative tasks to support the HR department, managing correspondence, and organizing HR-related events or meetings.
  • Assists in the preparation of HR reports and analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning. This may involve collecting and analyzing data related to recruitment, turnover, workforce demographics, total rewards, and other HR metrics.
  • Assists HR team with processing performance-related documentation and assessments; reconciles associate status changes and assists in the administration of comprehensive and pulse associate surveys.
  • Assists with the maintenance of HR platforms.
  • Creates digital infographics and content for HR initiatives and communications, including for employer branding initiatives.
  • Creates programs and initiatives to preserve and increase associate engagement throughout the company.
  • Supports associates and managers with routine, daily Human Resources questions, needs, and inquiries.
  • Escalates sensitive matters to HR stakeholders while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Contributes to a work environment that encourages the knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage the company’s workforce.
  • Remains current on best HR practices through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and courses as directed.
  • Represents the HR Department and serves as a resource by participating in various company committees as directed.
  • Assists the HR Department with the administration of its functions when coverage is needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related discipline. Required
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) Plus
  • 2-3 years working as a Human Resources professional or administrative support role. Required
  • 2-3 years For internal candidates, proven HR ability and advanced education consideration instead of experience. Required
  • 2-3 years Of working in the legal industry. Plus
  • Computer literate and proficient in all software programs required for the position. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks in a fast-paced environment. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, written and verbal, to companywide audiences. (Required proficiency)
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to employ emotional intelligence and adaptability under pressure. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Knowledge of national markets, Human Resources trends, and methodologies. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Understanding the legal industry, including types of ADR, court processes, and legal terminology. (Plus proficiency)
