A Brief Overview


The JAMS Solutions Proposals Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing the JAMS Solutions team's framework and methodology for responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). It includes managing the procedures and technology for planning, developing, and producing proposals and pitches. Moreover, this position leads the JAMS Solutions team's proposal initiatives and works closely with stakeholders across the organization. The position is also responsible for updating, maintaining, and managing approved content and other standard response language used in pitches and RFP responses. The JAMS Solutions Proposals Manager serves as a "subject matter expert" for the team's RFP and pitch processes.

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Supports and guides multidisciplinary teams of associates, managers, senior managers, and panelists to develop and assemble material in compliance with proposal requirements. Manages all aspects of response production from start to finish: determines response requirements, organizes and conducts kick-off calls, assigns responsibilities, compiles and organizes information, drafts content, performs quality control, and ensures on-time delivery and follow-up.
  • Refines and supports the management of the company's pitch and RFP tracking system, including logging new business opportunities and outcomes. Follows up with stakeholders on the status of open opportunities and correctly tags information in the system. Manages the team's awards database and calendar, including updating deadlines, understanding awards criteria, and recording outcomes.
  • In combination with other stakeholders, reviews inbound RFPs for relevancy and priority to JAMS.
  • Manages marketing collateral requirements and updates in combination with other stakeholders.
  • Researches information on current and prospective clients.
  • Assists with various department-wide tasks, as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, public relations, English, Literature, Marketing, or other communications-related field. Required
  • 6-8 years of law firm or other professional service firm experience with a solid track record of successfully winning work through proposals. Required
  • 5+ years For internal candidates, proven ability as an Associate Business Manager, or similar position. Required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, verbally and in writing. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to project manage complex projects under tight deadlines. (Required proficiency)
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to synthesize data and accurately capture it in a narrative, and to turn technical jargon into clear copy. (Required proficiency)
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent judgment and decision-making abilities. (Required proficiency)
  • Strong intuitive skills and the ability to translate experience and lessons from one project to the next. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in an environment with shifting priorities, meet time-sensitive deadlines and actively follow-up as needed to meet deadlines. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn relevant JAMS computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, HubSpot, ZoomInfo, etc.) and products, operating systems, and technology used by organizations soliciting RFPs (e.g., PERSUIT, Ariba, Scout, and SAM.gov). (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to utilize technology, including website, intranet, extranets, databases, knowledge management tools, and presentation software. (Required proficiency)
