A Brief Overview

 

The Senior Dispute Resolution Consultant ("SDRC") provides oversight and analysis of practice areas, partners with local and regional management to develop and implement innovative strategies for case management support and recommends improvements to drive operational excellence. The SDRC serves as the primary point of contact for national and international alternative dispute resolution programs and in partnership with panelists, offers thought leadership and expertise in resolving the most complex ADR cases. The SDRC also partners with local and regional management to provide ongoing associate education and provides mentorship to less-experienced case managers and drives organizational knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Serves as a key resource for the Legal Team on issues including employment and consumer screening matters and National Arbitration Committee (“NAC”) submissions.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing and Business Development teams to support panelists in meeting or exceeding their annual practice goals.
  • Acts as a resource for new panelists, assisting with their onboarding and practice ramp-up.
  • Serves as a resource for regional and local management teams by mentoring and supporting the professional development of less experienced associates.
  • Develops and executes case management services in partnership with the Talent Development and local management teams, ensuring a consistent, scalable, and effective approach to on-the-job associate training.
  • Identifies and cultivates opportunities for outreach to target clients to expand business and enhance service offerings. Manages general inquiries and website information requests and contributes to a culture of service excellence.
  • Manages high-value case files, including cases requiring panelist recommendations; ensures client satisfaction is met or exceeded at all stages.
  • Leads the administration of government programs and other highly complex, multi-party or multi-case matters with intricate administration requirements.
  • Partners with the Client Experience team to monitor client engagement and retention strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Management, or related field required
  • JD Plus
  • 6-10 years Legal departments, legal service, or law firm experience. Required
  • 4-6 years. For internal candidates, proven ability as a Dispute Resolution Consultant or similar position. Required
  • Ability to articulate, train, and perform in accordance with all policies and procedures that affect the overall management of case matters, including, but not limited to, documentation, financial policies, and usage of JAMSware, for all types of resolution services JAMS and its Panelists offer; mastery of the Arbitration process and procedure. (Required proficiency)
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems, as well as leading projects and interacting with multiple departments and company audiences. (Required proficiency)
  • Mastery of the proficiency, practice areas, and practice preferences of all JAMS Panelists that will perform services within their markets, so that the most appropriate Panelists are identified and recommended for each case; knowledge of Panelists’ practices, strengths and styles. (Required proficiency)
  • Computer literate and proficient in all software programs required for the position. (Required proficiency)
  • Self-starter who can organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks in a quick-paced environment. (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Critical thinking and analysis, reading comprehension, and clear, compelling writing. (Required proficiency)
  • Understanding of the legal industry, civil litigation, and/or all alternative dispute resolution options. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of Panelists’ practices, strengths, and opportunity areas, and styles. (Required proficiency)
  • Emotional intelligence and adaptability under pressure. (Required proficiency)
  • Exhibits mastery of all types of case management – arbitration, mediation, allocation, neutral analysis, and court-appointed assignments, etc. (Required proficiency)
