A Brief Overview
Acts to increase exposure and recognition for JAMS and its panelists for assigned companywide initiatives (e.g., regions, practice areas, and neutrals). Collaborates with panelists, associates, and clients on the successful implementation of stated practice development objectives. Drives outreach to existing and potential clients (e.g., law firms) and to other key stakeholders (e.g., corporations and legal organizations). Manages national practice development and marketing initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Researches market trends to identify further organizational business growth opportunities through practice area development and builds marketing plans for relevant areas identified. Maintains thorough documentation of national practice development plans; regularly monitors results to adapt plans to drive goals. Liaises with the regional PD team on panelist launches that are tied to assigned responsibilities. Identifies and liaises with panelist recruit prospects.
  • Builds marketing plans for national and global practice areas and/or organizational capabilities as designated. Establishes goals for plans and partners with Marketing & Communications to produce and analyze metrics to review the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Liaises with legal organizations to arrange for JAMS exposure via event attendance, programs, leadership opportunities, and sponsorships. Prepares and manages annual PD budget for assigned areas.
  • Works with regional PD team, panelists, and Marketing & Communications to create relevant content, including article placement, blogs, social media postings, and updates to the JAMS website and panelist bios, in line with practice area strategy. Ensures timely creation and distribution of internal and external communications related to assigned initiatives (e.g., panelist updates and external newsletters).
  • Develops and executes practice development strategy for JAMS and its panelists in assigned practice areas; conducts market and competitive intelligence research; documents plans and activities; monitors results.
  • Liaises with legal organizations, law firms, and companies to promote JAMS. Plans, produces, and moderates roundtables, legal education programs, webinars, ADR education programs, and other events to raise the profile of JAMS and its panelists.
  • Manages team performance through regular, timely feedback, as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and team development. Leads, coaches, and develops Practice Development Managers and Practice Development Coordinators.
  • Ensures that JAMS is exceeding annual practice goals and develops or revisits strategic plans when this is not the case.
  • Collaborates with appropriate constituents on requests for proposals and presents to prospective clients.
  • Liaises with the Legal Team to ensure activities are in line with neutrality guidelines and relevant laws.
  • Travel Requirment 60% (local, regional, and national travel).

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Management, or related field. Required
  • 4-6 years of working in marketing and practice development. Required
  • 4-6 years of working in legal and client service. Plus
  • 4-6 years For internal candidates, proven ability as an ADR Specialist, Practice Development Manager, or similar position. Required
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in job-related software programs. (Required proficiency)
  • Understanding of the legal industry, including court processes and legal terminology. (Required proficiency)
  • Familiar with key legal organizations within their national scope of responsibility. (Required proficiency)
